Haugland Family Adoption

Kelly and I have been married for 16 years and have been given an exceptional son, Aaron, who is 10.  Adoption has been a consideration for us in varying degrees for many years, but it has only been through some agonizing, beautiful, and prioritizing life experiences in recent years that we have made a decision to adopt a child from China.  We feel God continuing to remove our speculative fears, insecurities, and selfish motives that have caused us hesitancy in the past. As we continue to search and read God’s word, seek wise counsel from our church and close friends, and plead for wisdom from our Lord, we find ourselves at a point where we are unexpectedly confident, at peace, and ready to move ahead. 

Many children are born into this world with no hope, no chance, no future, and no one to fight for them.  Adoption is imagery of the Gospel…God reaching down to sinful mankind on earth thru Christ and offering adoption to us as children when we did nothing to deserve it… whether we understand it or not - whether we respond to it or not. 

We understand we have no control over any circumstances in this process or in the future, we only believe that responding to God’s word will result in God growing us more.  We are excited, we are focused, yet we are weak in so many ways.  We believe that if this is God’s direction for us, we will not only reach our financial goals in the amount and timeframe needed, but that we will be given larger capacity of grace, patience, direction, and life-long guidance in the years ahead.  At this point, we simply need financial help to accomplish our adoption.  We would be honored, humbled, and overjoyed to accept any gift you may consider for us.  Our announcement is not intended to presume on anyone's gift, however, if you are considering $500+, please contact us directly.  Thank you for reading our story, for praying for us, and for being part of our life!
