<div>Advocates of Silenced Turkey olarak, Türkiye cezaevlerinde sağlık hakkı ihlal edilen <strong>hasta tutukluların </strong>yaşadıklarını dünyaya duyuracak <strong>yeni bir belgesel hazırlıyoruz.</strong>

<div>Tedaviye erişim en temel insan haklarından biridir. Buna rağmen bugün Türkiye cezaevlerinde <strong>1.400’den fazla ağır hasta mahpus ve 5.800’den fazla 65 yaş üstü tutuklu bulunuyor.</strong> Birçoğu düzenli tedaviye erişemiyor, ilaçlarına zamanında ulaşamıyor, yeterli beslenemiyor ve sağlık durumları ağırlaşmasına rağmen cezaevinde tutulmaya devam ediyor. Ne yazık ki bazıları yaşamlarını yitiriyor. Bu rakamların her biri bir insanı, bir aileyi ve yarım kalmış bir hayatı temsil ediyor.

<div>Bu belgesel; 35 gün boyunca <strong>hastane yatağına kelepçeli </strong>tutulan bir polis memurunun, <strong>görme yetisinin %95’ini kaybetmesine r</strong>ağmen tutuklanan bir öğretmenin, tedaviye erişemediği için ölümle burun buruna gelen <strong>yaşlı bir iş insanının</strong> ve ağır hastalıklarla cezaevinde yaşam mücadelesi veren insanların hikâyelerini anlatıyor. Bu hikâyeler yalnızca birkaç kişiye ait değil; sesi duyulmayan binlerce hasta tutuklunun ortak hikâyesidir.

<div>Belgeselin en zorlu kısmını geride bıraktık. Avrupa ve Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’nde çekimlerimizi tamamladık. Aylar süren araştırma, görüşmeler, güven inşa etme süreci ve röportajların ardından şimdi <strong>kurgu ve post-prodüksiyon aşamasındayız.</strong>

<div>Daha önce hazırladığımız <strong>The Other Children</strong> ve <strong>Metamorphosis: Women’s Resilience to Oppression in Türkiye </strong>belgeselleri uluslararası film festivallerinde ödüller kazandı ve dünyanın farklı ülkelerinde düzenlenen gösterimlerde binlerce izleyiciyle buluştu. Bu çalışmalar, insan hakları ihlallerine ilişkin farkındalık oluşturdu ve <strong>sessiz bırakılan insanların hikâyelerini uluslararası kamuoyuna taşıdı.</strong> Şimdi aynı etkiyi, hasta tutukluların yaşadıklarını dünyaya ulaştıracak bu yeni belgeselle sürdürmek istiyoruz.

<div>At Advocates of Silenced Turkey, we are producing <strong>a new documentary about sick prisoners in Türkiye </strong>and the human rights challenges they continue to face.

<div>Access to healthcare is a fundamental human right. Yet today, more than <strong>1,400 seriously ill prisoners and over 5,800 prisoners aged 65 and older remain behind bars in Türkiye. </strong>Many cannot receive timely medical treatment, essential medications, or adequate nutrition, even as their health continues to deteriorate. Tragically, some lose their lives. Behind every number is a person, a family, and a life forever changed.

<div>This documentary tells the stories of a <strong>police officer who was handcuffed to a hospital bed for 35 days</strong>, a teacher imprisoned after losing 95% of his vision, an elderly businessman who nearly died after being denied timely medical care, and others struggling with serious illnesses behind bars. Their experiences represent the reality <strong>faced by thousands of sick prisoners whose stories remain largely unknown outside Türkiye.</strong>

<div>We have already completed filming in Europe and the United States. After months of research, interviews, and earning the trust of those willing to share their experiences, <strong>we are now entering the editing and post-production stage.</strong>

These films helped bring international attention to human rights violations in Türkiye. We hope this documentary will continue that effort by sharing the stories of sick prisoners with audiences worldwide.
