Harvey Woods or "Chip" as those close to him call him is an incredible man. Ex Firefighter, Ex-Cop, Ex-Paramedic, amazing father and husband. The type of man to always do what is right no matter what the consequence. Chip Woods has always been the strong one, never sick, always supportive, always lending a helping hand to anyone that asked.
Unfortunately Chip was admitted to the Hospital with heart failure with a function of only 35% on June 19th it was quickly determined that surgery was the only hope of survival. On June 29th, the preformed a triple bypass surgery. Chip is a fighter and came through the surgery like a champ. While he would only gain 5% of his heart function back he would be able to live a healthy, relatively normal life doing things that he loved. Chip was doing great at physical therapy and adapting to his new limitations and all of us could see the light at the end of this dark tunnel we had been put into.
On August 15th just six weeks after Chip's surgery he suffered a stroke affecting the right side of his body. Chip is now faced with a long road of therapy and lifestyle adjustments and the bills are starting to pile up.
We ask that everyone give what they can so that Chip and his wife can keep a roof over their heads and not be buried in medical costs since insurance will only pay a small portion. Any donation is greatly appreciated and will go a long way. Thank you for taking the time to read my father's story.
