We all know what hurricane Harvey has done to the people of Texas, it is very heartbreaking; but even more when it is a loved one. My granddaughter, Erica, niece to Dee, Lisa and Annie Diaz, daughter to Miriam Diaz Bejin, cousin to Demetrius and Miguel Brown has been affected by the destruction caused by Harvey.
Erica became a flight attendant about five years ago, the airline's base is in Houston. With pride and pain, we saw her leave the nest at 21 to another city which was like another country to us, but we were so proud of our girl becoming a woman of her own -seeing the world, sharing positives and negatives with us, setting up her first apartment (damaged by the first hurricane). She loves family so much and her bond with us makes it even harder to deal with her pain.
Erica is planning her wedding to Joe and we were so excited, they shared the house in Houston, but now Harvey has destroyed EVERYTHING . The cars are in the deep waters of Harvey. She cannot go to work because the airport is closed, but even if it was open, she cannot get there. As we all know, it is not easy to rebuilt. Material things can be replaced so we are forever grateful for her and Joe's life being spared. We are looking forward to the wedding plans to be put in motion again, but we have to help them get started again.
We are putting this gofundme together to help Erica and Joe get - clothes, uniforms, car, shelter and household needs. We are very grateful to our friends who have reached out to us asking about Erica and how we are coping and how they can help. We are all banding together, but weneed your help.
