Harvey Relief - Hernandez Family

I never realized how much of my past, present and even future was represented in my home, until it was destroyed. I keep reminding myself that what matters is that my family and I are safe but I also can't ignore the fact that our home is now empty of everything we ever owned.

The pictures that held our childhood memories of Vero and I are no longer there to remind us of the happy times. The love letter that my dad wrote to my mom 24 years ago is no longer legible. The everyday things: my comfy bed, the couch where we watched novelas, the stove where we cooked family dinners are now resting on the edge of our lawn waiting to be picked up by dump trucks. Our cars are totaled.

We are immensely grateful to our friends and family who have reached out asking us how they can help. Our neighborhood is on high grounds and was supposed to be "safe from floods" which is why we didn't count on flood insurance. We've created this GoFundMe account for any donations that you'd like to provide to my family and I.
