Harvey Relief for Travis
Donazione protetta
We are starting this campaign to help out Travis Leach. His house is located in the Bear Creek neighborhood near Highway 6 and Clay Rd. This area was especially hard hit by Hurricane Harvey and water levels remain extremely high.
As of Wednesday, August 30th, Travis's house is still inaccessible and under 4' of water. Unfortunately, this area is right next to the Addicks Reservoir, where engineers continue to release water into the surrounding area. For this reason and due to flooding upstream, the water is not receding.
With a one story home, there was no viable option to move personal belongings to high, dry ground. As a result, everything from walls to cabinets will need repair, while furniture, personal belongings and tools used at work as a general contractor have been destroyed. Water has not yet receded, so we are unsure as to the extent of the costs.
The first picture below was taken by Travis from a canoe on August 30, while the second was taken by a local news photographer and shows the extent of the devastation in Travis's neighborhood.
Those of you who have the privilege of knowing Travis know that he is always there to help anyone in need. Despite his own troubles during this trying time, he has been out working to help friends and strangers who have been impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
It is our turn to return the favor and support our friend and neighbor during this time of need. Anything you can contribute would be greatly appreciated. 100% of all funds raised will go directly to Travis. Once we hit our goal, he can withdraw the money. Thanks again!
