Harvey Fundraiser - Kate Nocca

Kate Nocca's home was devastated by Hurricane Harvey in late August 2017. To her surprise the street flooding throughout the days of rain was manageable and only halway up the driveway once the rainfall started to slow down.
On the evening of August 28th, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers started releasing water from the Barker and Addicks reservoirs. Because of the proximity of the house to Buffalo Bayou and rising waters, the next morning bayou water was inside the house, above the ankles and kept rising throughout the day on August 29th. This kept rising throughout the day and eventually got knee-high. With no power for 48 hours, Kate was eventually rescued to safety by boat on wednesday August 30th.
With no flood insurance (due to the fact she is not located in a flooded-prone area!), she is purely relying on funds from FEMA which won't cover anything close to the costs to fix the house.
She has been living at a friend's house ever since. We've all assisted in removing all furniture, appliances, and tearing down dry-walls/cabinets.
Like so many of the thousands of homes devestated by this hurricane, the rebuilding process will take time and will be obvioulsly be very costly.
On behalf of Kate, a hard-working single mother and teacher at Bellaire High School, she appreciates each and every contribution made to help during these tough times!
All donations will be withdrawn directly by the Nocca family and used to aid in covering the cost of materials and labor for repairs as well as appliances, and furniture.
