Andrew-Wright & Rose Harvey Relief

I am organizing a collection of funds to help my sister's family and my uncle, who has special needs, recover from the damage Hurricane Harvey wreaked on their homes in Humble, TX.  They both separately suffered severe property damage from the controlled release of water from the Lake Conroe dam into the San Jacinto River.  Fortunately, they all made it out of their homes safely (along with all of their dogs and cats) and we are grateful for their physical safety.  After the water finally receded, they returned to their homes to evaluate the damage.   

My sister and her husband, who have a seven year old daughter and a three year old son, had close to three feet of water in their home in Ramblewood Estates.  The furniture in their living room, dining room, master bedroom, bathroom and home office was damaged.  The kitchen cabinets and applicances, along with laundry appliances were destroyed.  Floors and walls were saturated with water.  In addition, toys, books, clothes, and bedding were damaged.

My Uncle's home, in Northshire, had nearly six feet of water in it.  He lost almost everything; very little was salvagable. His furniture and appliances were not just soaked, but destroyed by water currents, which knocked them over and displaced them throughout his house.

Neither of their homes were insured with flood insurance, as neither of their homes have ever flooded before and both withstood the onslought of rain, but could not escape the wrath of the San Jacinto River after the controlled release of water.    

They are in need of clothes, personal effects, furniture, appliances, home goods, bedding, children's books, toys, and home repairs.  These funds will be used to assist these two families in repairing their homes and replacing items they need in order to function again as a family.  Anything you can contribute would be a huge help to our family right now.  If you are not in a position to contribute financially, but could donate your time and





physical energy in helping with the clean up, this would also be appreciated!
