Welcome lovely friends!
My heart for missions started the moment I met the Lord. I remember looking at the world map on my wall and praying over countries I had never even heard of before. From the very beginning Jesus has shown me different visions of me going to countries all over and preaching the gospel and loving children and people deemed "unloveable". But as time continued I began to shift my focus to other things, until I began recieving words from people and even the Lord about doing missions. I started feeling the pull in my heart after one of the leaders in my school told me she saw the nations all over me. During my first year I was standing with my friend Zoey during a church service and I even heard the Lord say "You're going to go to Harvest School next year." I was convinced it wasn't for me so I told her that I heard it for her! Funny how that all worked out! I had almost applied to Harvest School before I came to BSSD but I clearly heard the Lord say "not yet", and I am so thankful He did! The timing could not be any better now! After recieving my acceptance letter I was at school praying for confirmation that I was making the right decision and the day before Brittany had the first year students write prophetic words for the second years and write words of knowledge on the word so she would call it off and give it to the person that matched the words of knowledge. Well, she had one that said "tattoo queen, loves black, and loves red roses", all of that is me! So I went up and read the word and the whole word was that the person felt like I was going through transition and that Jesus will be taking me places I never thought I'd go and to not be afriad but that He trusts me to make the right decisions, and at the end it said 'and if you've been looking for confirmation or a sign, this is it!'
I about D I E D. This girl didn't know who it was going to go to or anything about my life! It doesn't get much clearer than that!
So what is Harvest School and what will I be doing?
So glad you asked! It is a missions school created and ran by Heidi and Roland Baker in Pemba Mozambique, Africa. I will be attending for roughly 10 weeks and staying with the childrens home she has started. I will have class 4-5 days a week and doing outreaches to the villages surronding us. This time will not be glamorous, but I know with out a doubt I will never be the same.
So I am asking YOU for help!
The amount I am raising is for tuition, plane tickets, my room and board while being there, my meals, and money to buy things while being there like water bottles, etc.
This school is truly an opportunity of a life time, especially because Heidi Baker is known world wide and they only accept a small number of students! My heart is burning to go and learn what it looks like to do missions and love people and lay my life down for the Lord and for others. I am so blessed!
