On Monday, March 16th, Harvest Restaurant Group made the painfully difficult decision to furlough over 1000 of its hourly employees in order to keep both them and the communities they serve safe throughout this unimaginable crisis. While Harvest is taking every possible step it can to ensure the return of every single one of these employees to our restaurants and to be able to pick up right where we left off once this nightmare is behind us, there is one thing we know for certain: our loyal and dedicated employees are living this nightmare right now.
With every hour that passes, every shift not worked, every drink that's not poured, every plate not washed, their fear and anxiety deepens.
So many of you, our loyal guests, each and every single one of you a member of our Harvest family, have asked how you can help in this time of uncertainty and need. You've shared stories with our servers and bartenders, many of them have become your friends. Maybe one of them created your now-favorite cocktail or made your 8-year-old daughter a strawberry milkshake not even on the menu because that's what she wanted. Perhaps you told the hostess taking your reservation that you were going to be celebrating your wedding anniversary, and when you arrived, there were rose petals and two glasses of Prosecco on the table. Or maybe you really wanted a vegan dish, so the cook came from the kitchen to your table to ask what you might like and then prepared it for you. This is what Harvest employees do. They go above and beyond, not because their managers ask them to, but because they want to. Simply put, without them, there is no Harvest Restaurant Group.
