Calling all proud Harvard Alums:
The 2017 Alumni Banquet provided an opportunity to discuss ideas for an upcoming project to preserve all of the proud trophies, plaques and awards that have been accumulated by so many Harvard alums. With the large amount of trophies collected through the years, there is now a shortage of locations within the school to keep them on display. What a problem to have -- an overflow of awards!
During the business meeting, it was suggested to start a public fundraiser to generate donations to help with remodeling and construction of new trophy cases. Money has already been collected in the amount of $1,280 as a kick start to the project. Alumni members gave $580 at the banquet with Don Gerlach generously contributing $700 on top of that! This money and any other future donations will go into the Harvard High School Alumni Historical Fund to be used for this project.
A trophy committee has been created and members include Dale Haseloh, Andrew Leichleiter, Jennie Paulus, Ruby Adam, Don Gerlach, Mike Nierman and Blake Thompson. This committee is serving as an advisory committee. Any decision will be made by the school board.
Our goal is to raise $20,000. The projected cost to upgrade the existing cases is $10,000. The additional funds needed will serve to accommodate for other future alumni historical projects and expantion of some additional trophy cases or display for plaques.
