Harry's Fund For Bowel Cancer Australia

Hello there lovely people. Just last month, I passed two years remission from cancer (five years to be considered cured). Though the journey to recovery has been challenging, I am grateful for making it this far and the support from everyone.

Unfortunately since then, friends have had loved ones diagnosed or lost to cancer, and a lot of my family have been diagnosed since, with my mum, two uncles, cousin and my lola (grandmother). 

Earlier in the year I made a calendar for cancer charity which many people were generous to help with and donate to. Despite the success, more can always be done to help. So while a 2022 calendar is being considered, I have decided to shave my head sometime nexy month to again help generate donations. Having always thick curly hair throughout my life, losing it with chemotherapy was quite challenging during in the treatment. It never really grew back fully the same and though the idea alone of shaving it off again is hard to swallow, if it means it will support others going through similar battles then it is always worth it.

With my lola, and a close friend's dad being diagnosed earlier in the year with bowel cancer, I've decided that the money generated will go directly to support the community funded organization, Bowel Cancer Australia. Being one of the more difficult cancers, they look to provide help in prevention and early detection, which is the best intervention for fighting this terrible disease.
