Harry's Kidney Transplant

Donation protected
My husband Harry is in need of a kidney transplant. While we have known for a few years that this was going to happen, we thought we had more time. 7 years ago his doctors noticed his kidney functions were declining. They were able to stabilize him. We lived for years with this in the back of our minds, but honestly had thought we dodged the bullet. A year ago his numbers started going down again. In November we were told his numbers were low enough for us to get on the Kidney transplant list. I quickly jumped into action and scheduled numerous appointments for him. We were successful in getting him on the list in 2 months.
When we had our initial transplant meeting, the doctors told us their best guess would be that Harry would need a transplant in 3-5 years. From looking at his kidney function numbers over the past few years, they were guessing 3-5 years.
We went home with a sense of relief. We had to time to make plans, time to arrange things.
As part of the kidney transplant protocol, he is required to do monthly blood work. This is where our first reality check came into play. His numbers had dropped again. The following month, another drop. Steadily his numbers are dropping. In 4 months we have dropped enough that we  are now discussing a dialysis plan.
We saw his specialist this past week and she is amazed that Harry isn't on dialysis yet based on his numbers.
We have found 2 amazing people who are willing to donate a kidney to Harry. We are hoping to make it to July before we have the surgery.
As business owners, Harry plays a very important role, and we need to transition someone into his role. Under normal circumstances I could probably handle his job as well as my job. But faced with watching him suffer through surgery, I know I will barely be able to do my job.
We are now faced with paying extra payroll to cover Harry's job. Which is fine, but faced with all the other expenses that will come up, it will be extremely tough.
We also would like to raise money to help offset the donor families expenses they will have.
Expenses that we are looking at include things like:
*Parking at the hospital $8 a day per person
*Meal in the hospital $15 a day per person
*Transportation to follow up visits $25-50 a day
*House cleaning while recovering for donor 2 cleans $250
*House cleaning while recovering for Harry 4 cleans $500
*Donor bills that accumulate while not working $2000 (we would like to pay as many as possible for them)
You can see how this starts to add up quickly. We are in no way buying the donors kidney and they fully understand that and have repeatedly refused any of our offers. But we want to help them as much as possible.
I know everyone has financial needs, and yes we do well for ourselves. But everyone needs help sometimes. Harry and I have both been cleaning offices at night to help put away some money, I have taken on cleaning houses during the day to save some money. We thought we had a few years to save for this, now we have a few months.
Please consider donating even $5 to help.
Harry and I thank you for your continued well wishes, prayers and support. This is a tough time, and we will continue to fight. July will be 23 years together and we plan to spend another 23 years together.
