Harry's month of sobriety for Age UK
Those of you who know me well will know how much I like a good drink, so since October is upon us I have decided to give my liver a well earned break and go sober for a month.
I did this last year just as a personal test, but this year I’ve decided to raise money for a cause that is very close to my heart. Just over 19 months ago I lost my dad to Myeloma after years of battling both Dementia and Parkinson’s.
My dad was an older man, passing away at the age of 72, so I’m now both blessed and cursed with seeing his face in every elderly persons. Yet with the spread of Covid this year, I’ve been seeing far fewer of those faces due to fear of infection and the subsequent risks that go with it.
Throughout the covid crisis Age UK has been there to provide support for the elderly in their solitude; making sure that they are not forgotten. The work they do is going to be even more important moving into the next 6 months with risk of infection even higher, so any contribution will be greatly appreciated.
