Harry Farrell's Eagle Scout Project

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Harry Farrell. I am 17, a Life Scout and a member of Troop 423 in Chico, California. I have been involved with Scouting since 5th grade and can confidently say it has been the best experience of my life. I have made great friends of all ages and learned so much—from how to build a campfire at a snow campout to how to effectively lead a group of people. The community service in Scouting has also taught me to value my community and to try to improve it whenever I get the chance.

I am currently working on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank a Boy Scout can achieve, but I need your help. In order to become an Eagle Scout, I must plan, manage and complete a substantial project that benefits my community. I decided to help the Jesus Center, a local homeless shelter, by building a new storage shed.

The Jesus Center plays such a critical role for the homeless in our community. The center goes beyond just serving meals; they help homeless people integrate into the community by providing housing, job training and even assistance finding educational opportunities. They serve men, women and children, including many military veterans.

I thought about what I could do at the Jesus Center. Since staff and volunteers are always in need of improvements that can make a day’s work a little easier or more efficient, I decided to build an 8’x12’ shed at their main location. This will allow them to securely store tools and supplies outdoors, where staff and volunteers can easily access them.

My fellow Scouts and I will be build the shed from scratch. The cost of the materials will be $1800-$2000, which I hope to raise with this fundraiser. Any extra money raised will be donated to the Jesus Center in honor of all my Eagle Project Donors.

If you would like to help, please consider making a donation. I appreciate you taking your time to visit my Eagle Project fundraiser.

Thank you,

William "Harry" Farrell
