On October 3, 2017 a story was reported on the death of Mr. George Harris. He was the city truck driver that was killed in a vehicular crash by a car being chased by police.
This Go Fund Me page is on behalf of Ms. Barbara Harris. Mrs. Harris and her three children are in dire need of housing assistance. A follow up news story appeared on WAVY-10 recently which highlighted Mrs. Harris and the condition of her home.
Plaza Christian Academy and HUG (Hand Up From God) want to help Mrs. Harris with her living situation. Her home is in a state of disrepair and unlivable. We have contacted a company that is willing to rebuild her entire trailer. This project may be bigger than what we can possibly handle by ourselves. The winter season is fast approaching which makes time of the essence. This is why we are reaching out to the community for help to raise $60,000.
You don’t know this about Mrs. Harris, but like her husband, she has a big heart and is always helping others. The love and support that Mrs. Harris gives to our youth also extends beyond the walls of our Academy. She has provided home care support for parents in need of evening and weekend child care services. Additionally she has mentored and provided shelter to youth who may have had nowhere else to go. She is deeply entrenched in her church and many civic organizations.
Mrs. Harris tackles everything with a smile on her face and love in her heart. She has done so much for others, and is also dealing with the tragic loss of her husband. We want to gather all resources and ultimately provide her with a safe place to live and new furnishings.
