Hey all! We're a family of 7; 2 adults and 5 children. My husband is the sole provider for our family while I take care of the kids. He's been working his ASS off trying to build a better life for our family after 3 long years of shelter and hotel living.
After battling credit issues (still a work in progress) and borrowing family vehicles, we were blessed to find housing. Finally, out of 1 hotel room and into 3 bedrooms with a living room and a beautiful yard we've been able to enjoy AND we got a reliable car so that we could stop Ubering and walking everywhere. Unfortunately, Chris has suffered some unexpected medical issues (nocturnal seizures) and our only car had a “happenstance” major issue that has forced us to Uber until we could afford to get the car fixed. We were able to get the starter, battery, and alternator replaced; however, this was a huge setback and we're asking for help. We've been in contact with our landlord from the start and unfortunately, she's not willing to give us some extra time to get this handled and has filed for eviction every month since his seizures have started. We've been able to take care of it ourselves, but this time we were hitting roadblocks with his medical bills and the car issues. I’ve reached out to community services for help and am unfortunately being told there is no funding available. We've exhausted all other options including signing up for all available overtime, working gig jobs, and offering handyman, lawn care, and babysitting services. Please help us so we do not get evicted! Thanks!
