Asking for help is hard, but planning a funeral is even more difficult.
Along with the pain and heartache of losing a loved one, comes the cost of the funeral and any bills they have left behind.
My father (52) was the primary breadwinner in our household and was unable to work for the last year due to illness and frequent hospital stays.
My mom, my two brothers, and I have been trying to handle everything ourselves, however, we are unable to do this alone. Today my WHOLE family (aunts, cousins, grandmother) and I put aside our pride and ask for help with the funeral cost, the cost of the burial ground, and lingering medical bills.
We are not looking at the most expensive options for his service, but we do want to have a service and burial exemplary of a man who gave his all for his family and would go out of his way to help strangers.
My father was the type of man who was always there for his family and was unafraid to give what he could to those we needed it. We are hoping that those he touched throughout his life, whether it was during his time in the military or throughout his travels, would also not be afraid to give to him.
