Harold Colston and Giving Back

Our Friend, Harold Colston needs our help!   Harold is a giver and he loves to help others.  Many of you have been the recipient of Harold's giving nature.  I know Harold has his hands in lots of places.  Competition BBQ Teams, where he just placed first in Brisket!  Thank you Brother Harvey for your loving help.   How many people has he fed over the years?  Knights of Columbus.  His Johnson County Work Family.   He loves and supports his Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals.  Harold loves everyone.  This is a chance for all of us to make a difference for him now!   On December 3, 2016 Harold and his family got the worst news ever!  Harold was diagnosed with Acute Monocytic Leukemia (AML). Harold had several issues facing him all at the same time.  A new diagnosis, a gall bladder surgery and no time to spare starting chemotherapy.    He and his family reached out to each of us and shared the tragic news! Harold proceeded like he does with all the things that come at him, with Faith and Hope.    Harold hasn't been able to return to work for Johnson County since his diagnosis, because he has spent most of his days in isolation,  with blood counts (caused by the harsh drugs used in Chemotherapy) too low to be able to be around everyone's germs.  If you know Harold, he is always quick with a hug and a huge smile.  He has missed all of you.   Linda and the girls have been at his side all the way. With that said, Linda and the girls need to keep their jobs. Many have stepped up and helped as they could.   Linda, Kelly and Mandy are trying to work and be with Harold.  It's a hard place to be, especially for  Linda, who works as a Sonographer at Shawee Mission Medical Center.  Linda is about to run out of paid time off.  Harold is very ill, and  as I type this, he has been hospitalized at KU since 7/6/17.  I am starting this GoFundMe account because I know how it feels to love someone so much and you want every second you can have with them, but life keeps happening and you still need to keep your home and pay your bills and eat and have gasoline to drive and you don't want to ask for help, BUT you also don't want to be burdened with all of those worries, because all you want is to be with that person you love so much.    My heart is heavy as I know what faces this family and I am reaching out to you for help.  Please help if you can.  If you can't,  that is understandable, consider mowing the yard for Harold and Linda or running some errands or the next time you cook a meal make a little extra and take it to Linda.  There are many ways to contribute.  Thank you to each of you for your time in reading these words!  Thank you for the many prayers I know you are all saying.  Pay it Forward and Love one another.
