Hi, I'm Harlotte O'Scara, a Seattle-based Drag Queen and costumer. You may also know me as Kevin Ellis. I've lived in Seattle for 11 years, and I have probably served you in a restaurant, coffee shop, or drank with you in a bar somewhere.
Okay, what happened? Why am I here?
On the evening of August 12, while on foot in a cross-walk, I was struck by a driver near my home. This driver carried me on the hood of their car for nearly 20 yards, ceasing to stop. I had to leap from the hood of the moving vehicle, possibly breaking both elbows, injuring a knee, my back and wrists. Thankfully I was able to walk away, but this driver got away as well.
I'm starting this GoFundMe to help raise money to help me pay for rent, groceries, phone bill and chiropractic work for a month. I'm pursuing hiring a lawyer, and part of these funds may be used for that as well. I intend to pursue justice after an errant, probably drunk, driver nearly took my life. Below is a cost-breakdown-analysis of what your money would go towards.

I have no words of how to explain how terrifying and frustrating this event has been. It's not easy for me to ask for help. If you know me and probably understand that. If you were a regular of at a business I frequented, or a drag show I've performed at and you have a few extra dollars, I'd be grateful to receive them. I have no idea what hiring a lawyer looks like, and the task seems impossible while supporting myself without any extra funds.
