Harley Bunny was shot. Help him get surgery.
Hopalong Hollow received a call today from Shelton Animal Control in Connecticut. The Animal Control Officers had caught two small, domestic bunnies who had been dumped loose in a populated area. One appeared injured and was desperately in need of veterinary help. The Hollow agreed to take both and had the injured rabbit transported directly to our vet, Dr. Raina Shunk at the South Wilton Vet Hospital. After examining the rabbit, x-rays were ordered. They showed badly shattered leg bones and two pellets still in the leg. Someone thought it fun to shoot poor Harley. Twice! Harley won the hearts of everyone at the vet hospital with his gentle personality. They named him after his beautiful harlequin coat. His leg cannot be repaired. The damage is far too severe. The amputation surgery is scheduled for tomorrow. This is a life-saving operation! He will be able to lead a normal life with three legs. His easy-going attitude ensures he will find a loving home as soon as he is healed. However, this surgery is expensive. We need your help to ensure Harley gets his second chance at a happy life. Please consider a donation. No matter how large or small, every penny helps get him closer to a full recovery. The estimate for his surgery is from $1448.50 to $1555.06, depending on how difficult it is. Please give him your support.
