Harlem Fire Relief

Donation protected
On November 17th, an apartment fire on 144th st in Harlem took everything Nic Marrone, Brennan Lowery, Velson D'Souza, and Jake McCready had.

In one afternoon they lost their home and all their possessions, leaving them with the clothes on their backs and in need of some help.

Details about the fire here.

They are all recent graduates from The New School for Drama and they are easily one of the most supportive, loving, hard working groups of people I know.

Without their belongings it will be very difficult to actively pursue their dreams in The Arts. Along with memories, they also lost film equipment, clothing, TV, technology, headshots, books, plays, and many other resources they need for their private and professional well being.

When I lived in New York, I found myself without a home or a place to go after a tough time in my life, and without a question, Velson, Nic and Brennan took me in.

New York presents its challenges on a daily basis, and feeling secure in  your home is so important.

Please help them out. Donate whatever you can to help replace what they lost. No donation is too small.

Thank you in advance for any/all donations, and a huge thank you to those who have reached out to them about housing or offered a couch to crash on.

The most important thing is that they are safe and healthy and that is something we can absolutely be thankful for.

The financial goal of $9,000 is to help replace major items lost as well has help in finding a new place to live. It won't fix everything, but it's a start.

Thank you for your generosity.

1. Who you are:
My name is Jeff Adams and I lived with the guys in this apartment for a brief period of time. They are some of my closest friends, and even though I don't live in NYC anymore, I felt the need to help.

2. Where you're from:
I'm from San Jose, CA. I moved back here from New York about three years ago and wish I could be there to help out my friends. I thought this was the next best thing.

3. Your relationship to the parties you're raising funds for:
As I said, these were my best friends/classmates/roommates in New York.

4. How the funds will be used (be specific as possible)
If you intend to withdraw the money, how you plan to send the funds to the parties you're raising money for or use the money on their behalf:
These funds were raised to help replace their lost items. Computers, clothes, etc. or to help put money down on a new apartment.
I asked the guys and the easiest way to distribute the money is for me to transfer to my account and then split it evenly among them via venmo or check.

Thank you!
