Hi Friends!
This month I am starting my journey with the UK Gendercare Clinic. The wait list at the moment is over 3 years for new patients, so I am paying out of pocket to go private and pay for doctors visits, tests, and monthly prescriptions.
I came out as trans three(ish) years ago, and have been binding my chest for the last 2. While this has helped, it is not a permanent solution, nor is it something that I can do at the gym or longterm. It has been a long journey of coming home to myself, and feeling at home in my body. As an avid swimmer, biker, climber, and scout, all I want is to do is be able to take my shirt off like my mates!
We have some big life events coming up, and are in full swing planning our marriage as well as family with an IVF clinic here in London. Starting a family is our top priority, and of course comes with its own substantial medical and donor costs over the next couple years.
I know how lucky to not only have amazingly supportive friends and family, but to be living somewhere where we can walk down the aisle and have children at all, but I could really use some help in raising funds for gender-affirming top surgery. I'll have a wedding suit to rock, and kiddos to carry around, and I can't imagine doing those things (or anything else, tbh) while feeling uncomfortable in my body.
