Gavin's 6th Birthday Project

You are invited to participate in Gavin's 6th Birthday project!! Gavin's 4 year old brother, Brian, sat in a small emergency room waiting area with very few toys on the most traumatic day of his life. He didn't know, and neither did we, that it would be the last day he would see his big brother alive. Brian talks about that day - and that room "with not enough toys, Mama" - every night going to bed. It shows us the importance of toys for children to help them through stressful times.


When we thought about what we could do to honor Gavin's September 29th birthday, we agreed that Gavin would want to do something special with his brother in mind. The brother he loved so much. So, we plan to donate appropriate toys, seating and wall panels to that same hospital emergency room to re-do their children's waiting area. A permanent plaque will be placed there saying that it was made possible by our family and the Chasing Rainbows community in memory of Gavin and to honor his little brother, Brian. This is the hospital where Gavin and Brian were born... and Brian will see that waiting room when he comes to the hospital to meet his new sister, Hope, this Christmas.
