Happy School Scholarships

Donation protected

The Happy School Program is the main project of Cambodian NGO Children for a Better Future (CBF), supported by funding from donors in Australia, Germany, Ireland, England, the Netherlands and Cambodia . The Happy School provides disadvantaged children in urban Phnom Penh with free primary and secondary education.

You can see the Happy School story here.

In 2020, CBF started a new program, the Happy School Intensive Scholarship Program.

From its larger group of students CBF selected 10 students to each receive  long term support through a partnership with a high quality independent school- Westline School . This scholarship support will take them through until the completion of Year 12 and help them pathway into either university or vocational training. You can meet the first 10 students here.

This new form of support recognises that truly transformative education, extending through to at least the end of high school has a greater potential to support longer term education and employment outcomes.

To identify these 10 recipients, each Happy School student and their family was ranked against two criteria:
– Highest economic need, indicated by their family income and situation
– Highest potential, indicated by their academic results, motivation and attitude

Each scholarship costs $630 USD per year. This page seeks to raise funding for additional scholarships. With each $630 USD raised CBF can include one more Happy School student into the intensive scholarships program.
