Happy Holidays for the Homeless

In December of 2015, my 2-year-old son and I gathered our saved money and headed to Target. We bought 4 backpacks and filled them with snacks, toiletries, socks, gloves, hats, scarfs, and blankets. The following week we set out for Boston on a cold, rainy December day and distributed the backpacks to 4 homeless individuals.
I made a short video about our experience and shared it with friends and family. I never anticipated the response I would get. People from all parts of my life - childhood and college friends, distant relatives, coworkers, and even strangers wanted to help.
With the help of those wonderful people and their generous donations, in December of 2016, we increased our contribution by 1,260% with 54 backpacks!!! Last December of 2017, we were able to distribute 88 filled backpacks - 34 from the year prior! We were also able to distribute MUCH needed jackets. Through Job Lot, at $10 per jacket plus a 10% discount, we were able to provide 35 individuals with brand new jackets to get through through the cold city winter.
We raised $1,150 from gofundme donations last year. We are aiming to add $1,500 this year, bringing us to $2,650 combined with last year. With the money you donate, we will be able to buy many jackets and backpacks (including deductions and fees from gofundme).
We will be gathering all donations by December 10th and distributing the backpacks the week before Christmas. Your donation would mean so much to this little non-profit project. Even just $5 would be much appreciated. Thank you so, so much for your kindness and generosity!
