Hanuabada Village Fire Appeal CNS

Donation protected
On Saturday Afternoon August 19th, A house fire blazed through the village of Hanuabada, belonging to the Gunina and Tubumaga Clans, 15 mins drive from the capital city of Port Moresby.

The fire then spread to a neighboring 14 houses, due to strong winds. Then another 3 houses were included in the count on 22nd of August. In total 18 family homes have since been burnt to ashes, which has left more then 200 people homeless including children with nothing left to their names, except the clothes on their backs. The fire spread and could not be contained due to lack of proper water supply to our village, a fundamental basic need taken for granted by those of us in developed countries, whereas the mass populations in developing nations, like PNG severely lack these services, therefore exeperienced disadvantages on a daily basis. This devastation could have been contained, had this simple service  of water supply been available in our village.

We are looking for support for our neighboring country. We seek to raise a total of $100,000 if not more for these 18 houses and countless amount of people that have lost completely everything.

The reason to raise a substantial amount of money is to  not only send money to rebuild of the lost homes, but also want to send donated items such as: basic house- hold products. This is the reason why we are seeking to raise the much needed funds to ship items/goods to our home village, Hanuabada.

There is a large close-net community of PNG people who reside in Cairns. These group of women volunteers have rallied together to raise funds in cash and kind to assist the affected families back home.

Alternatively, if you cannot donate from your pockets, we are accepting donations of basic house hold items to be sent over.
ie, blankets, pillows, towels, small foam mattresses, toiletries, personal hygiene products, pots, pans, kitchen utensils, cups, kettles.

Please contact us so we can direct you to the nearest drop off zone (we are currently only doing Cairns region). If you are in another region and would like to help out with a drop off zone in your area, please do not hesitate to contact us immediately, so as to direct you to the appropriate location .

Please donate to these families. 200 people are in need of our help. Anything is better then nothing.

Thank you ❤
