In just about four months, the Hannah Yoter Band will be recording its sophomore album in Anchorage. We’ll be recording around twelve songs written by our band leader Hannah Yoter, and arranged by the guys and gals in the band.
What’s most exciting about these songs is the through-line of narratives about Hannah’s family. In Americana and Folk music, songs tell stories, and Hannah is a truly gifted storyteller. We don’t want to say too much, but this album is part family-tree, and part cowboy-fairytale; we’ve got barn-burners about broken hearts, tales of Pancho Villas’ Army, and crooked, blues tunes about lust and wonder. Hannah has woven together a really special collection of stories, and we’re excited to share them with you.
Right now, we’re pouring every penny we’ve made playing dusty bars and music festivals into this album. Hannah was also honored to receive a Rasmuson Individual Artist Award to help with funding (for which we’re so grateful). But, financially, we’re not quite there yet. So we're asking for your help in filling the gap.
Some of the expenses include:
-Recording Studio Time
-Travel Costs for Musicians in the Band
We've chosen to record the album here in Anchorage with Kurt Riemann at Surreal Studios . We're also excited to announce the inclusion of acclaimed musician Eli West as producer.
We want you to hear these stories, and we’d really appreciate your help in making that happen! Every dollar you donate goes directly towards making this album a reality.
