Hannah's Breasts ReductionSurgery

Hi there! My name is Hannah Byrne, I'm 18 years old and suffer from chronic pain, scoliosis, migraines and chest pains from my oversized breasts (sized 12JJ). My spine has begun to bow towards the left, causing my left shoulder blade to drop and my right hip to migrate upwards to compensate. This means that spending time on my feet, walking, running or bending are agonizing for me. The pain is starting to impact on my daily life as I often struggle to finish an 8 hour shift without copious amounts of painkillers (which leave me with bad tummy pains). Going out with friends is often out of the question as by the end of the day I need to lay down and avoid moving. I'm currently spending $80 a fortnight on osteopath bills.

On top of the physical side effects this condition has many psychological effects too. I'm a size 12 naturally but with my breasts all of my clothes have to be a size XXL, which impacts my confidence I cannot wear dresses or singlets that fit both my waist and my chest. On top of this, my figure has the ability to make even a turtleneck seem revealing which means I cannot leave the house without being stared at like a freak show cat called or in a few cases groped I often have panic attacks in public from the humiliation my body causes me. I cannot buy bikinis in my size and each bra costs me $150 from the one shop in SEQ that stocks my size.

In September this year I will be undergoing a breast reduction surgery to remove 800-900 grams of tissue per breasts as a way to try and regain my body back. This is the maximum the surgeon can remove without causing permanent damage to the breasts. This will bring me back down to an E cup hopefully but more likely an F.

I have quotes from a couple of specialist and the surgery alone will cost me upwards of $6000. As a fulltime university student and part time waitress; this cost is nearly as crippling for me as my condition. I have saved up a small amount of money but not enough to apply for a loan.

My dad is the primary earner of my family, but due to poor health associated with diabetes and workplace injuries he is looking to retire soon. I don’t wish to further burden him with financial aid for my surgery. As I am still only 18 his private health fund will cover my theater and Anaesthetic fees.

I don’t like asking for handouts as I know that there are millions of people in the world who need aid more than I ever will but if you want to help out you could donate any small amount here, or share this page. Any help would be greatly appreciated by me.

I'm the last person to ask for a handout or pity. But I am just 18, still a child to many. I cannot walk properly, my hip is damaged, my spine is bent and my confidence is shattered all because of my breasts.

Please, if you can, help me get my life back on track
