Hello! My name is Hannah Muzio- some of you may know me as Princess Winnifred from the BRHS production of 'Once Upon a Mattress'!
I am a member of Bear River High School's advanced jazz choir, Jazz Unlimited. A couple weeks ago we were competing at the Santa Cruz Jazz Festival. We performed three songs for a panel of judges and theater of jazz enthusiasts. I had a scat solo, sang harmony with my fellow soprano, and was the soloist for the song "Leave My Body" by Florence and the Machine.
That night at the evening concert, I was awarded one of two top prizes - a 50% scholarship to the summer program at the world's number one music college - Berklee College of Music!!!
I am humbled and honored by the award, and so excited to go!! The scholarship is for 50% of the program tuition, and I will need help raising the other 50%, room and board and plane fare. Anything and everything will bring me closer to my goal. If I am so lucky to have donation money left over after my expenses, I will use them to further my musical education.
