Hannah's Study Abroad in Japan

Hi, I'm Hannah Willoughby, and I'm currently a freshman at the University of Tennessee, and my major is nuclear engineering. I am very interested in the Japanese language and culture, and I found a summer program that works perfectly with my schedule and college plan!
Program Overview
Syllabus
This program is from June 2 to July 29, 2015. The best thing about this program I will have a Japanese student as a roommate (which should help me learn the language and culture much faster compared to living with another international student). I'll also get out of a year of Japanese classes at UT, and this helps a ton because I'm an engineering student and it's very hard to minor in a foreign language (which is what I want to do) and they don't encourage it. Because it is basically a year of Japanese study but in two months, it is going to be very intense. But don't worry! I'm in the honors program at UT, and after my first semester, I have a 3.87 GPA.
I would love to work and be a missionary in Japan. I need to learn Japanese as soon as possible so I can begin to learn technical Japanese terms related to the nuclear industry.
I cannot stress to you enough how bad I want to go to Japan (my friends and family can attest), and even a little contribution will help. The program itself is almost $9000, but this does not include food or airfare. I've gotten a few scholarships, but it is still way to expensive for me to afford.
Thank you so much in advance.
