Hannah Rengo’s road to recovery

Hello everyone! So a couple of people have written out my story on my behalf this last week 1/2, now I’d like to share it from my view point. My beautiful Brazilian mastiff, Leo, had gotten bone cancer that we found out two weeks before the attack happened. Unfortunately it had  spread to his brain and one of the nights that we were late on his pain medication, he had snapped much like my doctor ‍⚕️ Sonja’s  German Shepherd had been diagnosed with the same exact disease that spread to his brain and they had it severe dog attack on them as well.  Leo took a 5 x 7 piece off of my head (probably to take a piece of me to heavon) haha, tore my shoulder muscle open, bit Jayson on the arm while trying to pull my boy out of further harm, and had gotten a hold on my foot  and crushed it before Jayson got me out of the bedroom.  As my cat Mia walked up to me while I was laying in the hall and a puddle of blood, I looked into his eyes and I told him everything‘s gonna be OK Mia. I love you little buddy. And right then I realize that I was going to survive, that I had love surrounding me I’m not this accident would not define who I am.  And although I lost a great friend out of this,  I have gained so much love and respect and connections from those I love and hold dearest, to people I don’t even know reaching out and sharing there stories with me. Each day I grow stronger in understanding that humanity has my back. So thank you for being a part of my journey of recovery. I don’t think I could’ve done it without you guys. Thank you so much for having my back when I needed all of you the most!  As I’m recording this through tears, it’s almost like they’re washing away the pain. Thank you all for being so strong with me as well! I love you I love you I love you !!  Can’t wait to spend time with everyone here on the west coast!! I’m so happy to be home!! XoxoxoX
