Hanging on by guitar strings

Donation protected
Andrew Tuck has been battling severe depression for over three years and was recently hospitalized in a mental facility for the second time because of suicidal thoughts. Andrew’s stay in the hospital was really hard on him and he has struggled to recover since being discharged.

Andrew started learning to play the guitar after his first suicide attempt three years ago to help him cope with depression based on a doctor's advice to find a hands-on activity.   Playing the guitar hasn’t cured him, but it has forced him to be present and in the moment, to better withstand suicidal thoughts, and to buy him time so that he can continue trying to get better. Playing the guitar has become Andrew’s main coping mechanism.

To help lift his spirits, his wife Amy would like to raise money to purchase him a new guitar.  We want to give people who care about Andrew an opportunity to show their support by helping Amy accomplish this.  Any donations above the price of the guitar will go toward recent hospitalization bills and guitar lessons.

Because Andrew was recently discharged and is still having a difficult time, we want to raise this money as quickly as possible to purchase a very specific guitar before it is sold.
