This fall I am excited to be taking a semester off of school and going overseas to serve with the International Mission Board. I will be serving in Madrid, Spain working with Complutense University of Madrid and Autonomous University of Madrid students by teaching ESL (English as Second Language). This is an exciting time for me as I will be able to use the Spanish I know from school, as well as furthering my ability, to disciple, communicate the gospel, and foster friendships with the students and locals in Madrid.
Last semester during the mission festivals one of the speakers challenged students to consider opening their hearts to serving overseas for a semester. I hesitantly did so and the Lord changed my plan, with a bit a resistance on my end. The Lord fully changed my heart, which was cold to the idea of taking a semester off of school, to eventually make it evident of His plan for me overseas. He has given me an incredible excitement and passion to see Europeans come to Christ. I feel as if Spain will be such a fit for me culturally with everything from dress, music, dance, and most importantly coffee.
As I go, I will most importantly need your prayers for (1) Boldness in witnessing to the nonbelievers, as 68 percentage of Spanish culture is Catholic and 27 percent are either Atheist or nonbelievers. As well as the ability to continue picking up on the language so that I am able to effectively share the Gospel so that they are able to understand with clarity. (2) Keeping my focus on the work at hand and being intentional in seeking out nationals. (3) That I am able to raise sufficient financial support. The trip cost is $3950. I have raised $2150 up to date but am still $1800 short. I will need all funds raised by August 1st. I know the Lord will provide in His timing.
I appreciate your prayers for my trip and would be greatly appreciative of any contributions. Please pray about if this is an area in which the Lord may be calling you assist in furthering His kingdom to ALL nations. I thank you in advance for your support both prayerfully and financially.
Glory to God
