Handicapped van purchase

Over 30 yrs ago, my mom was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. She and my family have always managed to make things work or happen that would be helpful or needed for her to remain independent and living in her own space. Recently, her handicapped van failed inspection because of a rotted frame which is not fixable at all. Unfortunately, because of the cost of handicapped vans being over 50K, a new one is not in anyone’s budget as she is on disability and a very fixed income which barely covers her necessities. We are looking at used ones which still cost quite a bit more than a regular minivan. Up until recently, she has utilized her van to get to appointments, get groceries, and be an ombudsman for local nursing homes. Because of the condition of her current van, getting to specialist appointments in the neighboring states is becoming more difficult so her care is starting to be affected. We are hoping to raise enough money to get a used handicapped van or at least a used van and connect with the MS society to help with making it handicap accessible which would include the tiedowns in it and a lowered floor if need be.
