To Whom It May Concern: We are in need of a handicapped accessible vehicle for our son, Ezechiel Davis. We are not financially able to purchase a vehicle at this time, and we are in desperate need in getting one. Our son is 21, soon to be 22 years old in December, and was diagnosed at three months old with Cerebral Palsy. Ever since then he has been mentally delayed, he has muscle dystrophy, he is non-verbal, non-ambulatory and he also suffers from epilepsy. He requires 24-hour care and supervision. Early this year (2018), he was hospitalized twice. The second time, he had a variety of health issues that arose. After two weeks of hospitalization, he was discharged home with a feeding tube. His physician ordered that he has absolutely nothing by mouth until his next swallow test. With that being said, he tolerates his feedings very well. He tolerates them so well that he is finally getting all the nutrients he needs and is gaining weight. As he quickly continues to gain weight, it is becoming a strain on our backs to lift and carry him. Not only will having a handicapped accessible vehicle make life easier in traveling, but we will not have to pick him up to put him in a car seat that is too small for him. It will be safer for him and less strain on our backs. Over the years we have been so blessed in caring for Ezechiel. We do not ask for much. I am a homemaker and my husband works full-time. He is the sole provider for our family and he works extremely hard to make sure we have everything we need and want. But at this time in our lives with three amazing children, one being a toddler, one being a college student and one with a disability, I think it is time to reach out for more assistance. So, whatever you can do to assist us we already appreciate it. I thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
