Handi Capable Fitness Walk

Hello, my name is James Norris and at the age of two I was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. I didn’t let this challenge define me growing up. I have always led an active life style, I even played challenger sports! After high school I went to school for television and radio production. Upon finishing school I worked for a local Boston radio station. I was putting in a lot of hours at work and I started to realize I was putting on a lot of weight. I decided that it was time for a change and that I needed to get active again so I joined a gym and started working with a trainer. Slowly but surely, I started to see the weight come off and I’m proud to say I’ve lost about 60 pounds.
I have a passion for working out and thought I could use this passion to document not only my own fitness journey, but also the journey of others who have challenges but don’t let that stop them. That is what lead me to start Handi Capable Fitness. A little over a year ago, a good friend of mine Introduce me to Ken Whittier a coach at Mike Boyles Strength & Conditioning. Ken and I have been working towards my goal of walking a 5K. I am not quite there yet but I am making progress every day and I continue to have the determination to get there.
As part of my 5k journey, On Saturday May 12th I’ll be taken part in the first ever Handi Capable Fitness walk, where I plan to walk as far as I can to show others what’s possible no matter the challenges. In order for this to happen I need your help to raise money for a walker. Any money raised exceeding the amount of the walker, I will donate to Boston Children’s Hospital to help others achieve their dreams. No donation is too big or too small.
