Ham’s Spinal Surgery

Donation protected
As many of you may know, Ham starting having back spasms in September of 2017.

With bedrest and painkillers he improved, but late last night we confirmed that he has a spinal disease (IVDD) and his condition progressively worsened. Currently, he has a disc that is compressing his spinal cord, and he is at the point where he can walk, but he is in a lot of pain and losing the feeling in his hind legs.

We took him to the emergency vet who explained to us that on a neurological scale, Ham is currently at a 4 and on the brink of becoming a 5:

If we have hope of him every walking again he needs to have spinal surgery, which has a 95% success rate at his stage.

We are pretty devastated, and we 1000% agreed that he needed the procedure. The surgery will cost anywhere between $8,000-$10,000 for MRIs, anesthesia, pain killers, surgery, hospital stay, and any preventative measures taken to resuscitate him if necessary. We are only hoping to raise half of the cost, and any small donation would make a world of a difference.
