Hammoud’s Legacy

Donation protected
Mohammad Habib Sammak (Hammoud) was born a fighter. His infectious grin, playful innocence and sweet disposition belied the struggles he endured throughout his short life. At only 3 months old he faced heart surgery. He battled leukemia twice, once at 2 years old and again at the end of his life at the tender age of 9. He was a child that defeated all odds with the help of Allah first and foremost followed by the skill, love and support provided by the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Hammoud entered Palliative care in the last 2 years of his life. He was surrounded by gentle care from every angle possible. After losing the ability to walk, the RCH helped him through hydro therapy in a special pool for immune compromised children. Hammoud benefitted immensely from the facilities, the support and the love the RCH provided; his record shows that of his 9 years of life he spent approximately 900 days at the RCH. Those are days that were a mixture of pain and joy as the hospital did whatever they could to keep him comfortable and happy.

Hammond is guaranteed Jannah alhamdulillah. But his legacy on this Earth is to continue to support the hospital that supported him. With the full support of the Sammak family, this fundraiser has been launched to  create a lasting legacy in Hammouds name which will benefit other children facing the same struggles.

At the request of his parents and siblings, all funds collected will be donated in the name of Hammoud to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.
