Halle vs cancer

Hello friends. I’m struggling to write this and never thought I’d be the one on this side of the story but I guess life really is full of surprises.
If you’ve ever met Halle, you know she’s a special girl (I’d really like to say THE MOST special but I guess I’m biased). She is gentle, loving, beautiful, and she has the most calming presence. Halle is truly unlike any other.
Unfortunately, she is also so rare that on Monday she was diagnosed with a very aggressive nasal cancer that came so unpredictably and quickly. We went to the vet twice this month for a runny nose, sneezing, and some congestion — all symptoms of the canine influenza (dog flu), an upper-respiratory infection, or allergies. She was prescribed antibiotics, and seemed to be doing ok. Still congested and a little sick, but nothing alarming. It felt safe for me to go out of town, so I left her with a dog sitter from Wed-Sat. By the time I came back to pick her up Saturday morning (3 days later), she was gasping for air fighting for her life with blood dripping down her nostril. I wasn’t aware of this intense degression and in all my check-ins while away, she seemed to be doing the same.
She was dumbly uninsured. On me for thinking we’re invincible and nothing happens when you’re young - never thought this would apply to me or my 2 year-old puppy, so if you think the same way, pls get insurance for you and/or your pet. Life changes in an instant.
Sadly, as great as the health system is here, it is also extremely expensive. Halle’s treatment is going to be well over $15,000. We're at $8,000 so far, and she still has to go through chemo/radiation therapy. I know this is a lot to ask and it feels incredibly uncomfortable, especially when there are worse things happening in the world, but I’d like to do anything to keep Halle with us. She is fighting for her life with every breath and I will do anything I can to fight for it with her. As rare as she is to have gotten this, everything in me believes she will also be rare enough to beat the odds.
I’ve made a GoFundMe for her if you have any means to donate anything or share this link. I will be forever grateful. She is my world. Please keep lil Halleson in your thoughts; she’s a special one ♥
