Halifax Hockey Kings - Polar Plunge

Donation protected
The objective of this page is to enable fund-raising efforts by the Halifax Kings Hockey Group, in support of the Run For Life Water for Kenya Project.  In 2016, Run for Life, a Canadian NGO, purchased a Village Drill using funds donated by these generous contributors .

Since that time, this manual drilling system has been used to bring safe, year round drinking water to marginalized communities in rural Kenya, with installation of 17 wells to date. The Village Drill program provides local employment and it brings clean water to those who need it.  Run for Life now requires funds to support ongoing well drilling projects for 2018. The Halifax Kings Hockey Group is supporting them in this effort.

This drone footage shows how the drill works, at a well being drilled in Kenya RIGHT NOW! This link provides a little more background on initiation of the Kenya Project.  And this link  provides background on the design of the Village Drill itself. And if you’d like to see Megan Markle spinning the drill, click here!

On Saturday April 7th (2PM….high tide!) several members of the Halifax Kings Hockey Group (and motivated family and friends!) will take part in a Polar Plunge in Halifax’s Northwest Arm, to raise funds for Water for Kenya.  Our confirmed jumpers are Mark King, Andrew O’Brien, Eric Parsons, JF Lussier, Walter Chow, Hannah + Vianney Aubrecht.
