Halfway Home: Rescued City Kitties of Binghamton

Note: We are so incredibly grateful to Anne Mamary for the opportunities and assistance she has provided the halfway home. Although, I did not know her mother, Janet, well, I was given the opportunity to give her the gift of Lincoln, a scared kitty that had his entire world and security gone in an instant. We all know Lincoln was the luckiest cat to get a home with Janet; all that love she had to give and care that surpassed that love. When Janet couldn't manage Anne and her caregivers did. Lincoln will remain in his home, despite his loss, at this time.  We are honored we were able to make a meaningful contribution to Janet's life! https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/pressconnects/obituary.aspx?n=janet-b-manbeck&pid=198233613&fhid=7264

Halfway Home: Rescued City Kitties of Binghamton NY is a simple cat haven that is run out of my home. Despite our successes,  (over 200 kitties spayed, neutered and adopted) we  have had numerous setbacks. So we are starting again, with your help, to maintain the kitties we are feeding at our stations and to once again be able to bring in, nurture & neuter and find the kitties a home.

It is the stray cats that once had a home that now live outside that are heartbreaking. They are not okay outside without assistance and it usually isn't where they want to be on a full-time, four season basis.

The needs of the cats, and the expense that go along with it continue to grow, but the income in does not.  There is a growing list of stray cats waiting to come. Currently, we are feeding at four stations.

The Halfway Home  cannot take in more kitties at this time. We are resting at 30 that are too shy or wild to be adopted, while I prepare a fixer upper for our new haven.

As soon as we are able, (with your help), The cats that have been abandoned or lost for adoption will be brought in. The feral kitties will be spayed and neutered then returned their outside homes  Of course we will continue to feed them. It is the high point of our day and the reason they can continue to live outside.

At one feeding station I have been told to stop feeding and I am not allowed on the property. (I sneak after dark now.)I am hoping to create a situation there that would bless my feeding the cats in exchange for having them fixed. (After hormones have settled down the kitties become much easier to live around... i.e. less spraying, fighting and kittens)

The kitties that are fed have no real idea about how grateful they would be to you, but they are always incredibly happy when the food comes. Halfway Home on the other hand, would be ecstatic about any and all help available.  In  fact, Thank YOU for just reading this far!

Graciously,
Susan for Halfway Home Kitties
