Half-Marathons #18, 19, 20 for EAT

Tax deductible
I’ll admit, we are both incredibly nervous about running THREE half-marathons in 8-days!!   But, when we found 3 races in the western states that would work out in the same trip, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to knock out the 3 states.  On Saturday, June 10th, we are excited to race in Jackson Hole, WYOMING.  We’ve been looking forward to running in Jackson Hole as it is a place that is near and dear to our hearts.  Then, we will head to Bear Lake, IDAHO and race there on Thursday, June 15th.  We can’t wait to see the gorgeous emerald Bear Lake!!  From there we will then head to Colorado where we will race on Saturday, July 17th in Arvada, COLORADO.

After much prayer, it became obvious that Equine Assisted Therapy clearly needed our fundraising efforts again after being devastated by the May 2017 flooding in St. Louis.

Equine-Assisted Therapy helps increase the quality of life for those with disabilities and disorders.  They very much need your help so that they can keep serving their participants.  Only 16 months after EAT’s Wildwood riding facility was flooded with 48 inches of water, the May 2017 flood filled their facility yet again with 49 inches.  This kind of disaster is hard to recover from, but to be hit two years in a row and for a nonprofit like EAT, it is a crisis for sure.

Though they were much more prepared this time, they need donations to rebuild with steel walls and a special waterproof insulation to better prepare for future floods.  They also need to replace the furnace and air-conditioner.   As a nonprofit and with grants becoming fewer and fewer for funding their program, EAT does their best to save every penny and put everything towards keeping their riders in the saddle… so unexpected expenses like these are a huge blow.  It won’t keep them down, but they very much need help getting back up again.

Making a donation to EAT will allow them to rebuild stronger than before and keep serving the heart of their program: their participants.  Your generosity breathes life into their program and lifts the hearts of every single person who walks their our facility.

With love & gratitude,

Christine & Aly Mikesell
