Haiti Teach and Build 2018

Hi, my name is Sarah Kelly from Clontarf, Dublin and I am travelling to Haiti for the month of July to teach and build for the Mount Merrion Parish Haiti Project 2018. My personal fundraising requirement is to raise €2,500 and hopefully I will reach this goal with your help.
Project Overview: The town in which we will work is in an extremely isolated, rural area in the north of Haiti, about 5 hours drive/150km away from Port Au Prince. The month of July is known locally as 'the month of the Irish', because of the commitment of many volunteers over the years from Ireland. We have two projects ; Sports and Literacy camps that take place in the morning and a construction project in the afternoon. The sports camps combined will have 630 children in camp aged 5 to 11. The children that attend the camp are taken from the poorest surrounding zones in the area. These Haitian children live a very harsh and difficult existence.
The main objective of the camps is to provide the children with a safe and fun environment where they will hopefully experience the natural joys of childhood and receive care and encouragement that is crucial at this stage of a child's development. The project organizes many activities in order to help us achieve this.
One huge offering of the camp that is vital, in my opinion, is ensuring that each day the children receive two substantial, nutritious meals and plenty of water that they most likely wouldn't get otherwise.
Some of the key achievements in numbers from last year’s projects:
Ø 630+ children from the poorest zones of the town attending camp.
Ø Over 80 Haitians employed and if you conservatively put the average size of a Haitian family at 6, that’s over 1,100 people directly impacted as a result of the projects.
Ø 24,140 meals served over the course of the projects.
Ø Construction of houses and buildings to benefit the local community in their living and educational needs.
