HGN is for the individual who is far beyond the machinery of big NGOs inside Haiti. We nurture a consciousness of "Empowerment vs. Paternalization", engage in preparing Leaders to reach a communal-country-wide goal, then we put into action a working leadership model, where the people are in charge.


Over 60% of HGN membership consists of youth led organizations inside Haiti.
Half of those organizations are related to sports, especially to futbol, soccer. Right now, we need your donations to help: (1) ship over 15 boxes load of soccer equipment & other sports, for neighborhood summer activities, (2) acquire custom clearance for the load, and (3) facilitate delivery to our members.

*Who will my donation support?
-Your gift will only be used to provide assistance to groups/grassroots organizations inside Haiti.

*What type of support does OPA provide?
-Right now we focus on 2 major advancements:

1-Leadership Development Training for leaders throughout the country:


The goal of the training is to connect all the grassroots workers under one uniform communal goal/agenda.


Your donations have been aiding us to encompass more and more areas.

2-Continuously Raise Funds to sustain existing participating member organizations in the work they do,

and the continuing development of Haiti Grassroots Network(HGN).



Last year, Haiti Grassroots Network added over 100,000 members from 60 different communities, mainly in Port-au-Prince, and Southern Haiti. In 2012, we also trained over 60 leaders in Port-au-Prince alone.

*What does OPA teach at those seminars?
OPA partners with Think Again International for seminar/training conduction.
-Our focus is to show rather than tell, we provide training where visual aids are used to include community leaders who are readers and non-readers.
-We are bringing to the grassroots communities inside Haiti, a leadership model that is way different than what is now in use.

-We implement a working leadership model used successfully by other grassroots workers: in California, in South America, and very popular in successful labor movements.
-We are adapting a "WORKING LEADERSHIP MODEL" where all the grassroots/groups/leaders, throughout the country are, (1) connected, (2) working with a communal agenda, and (3) are able to support each other.

*What is a Leader?
-Immediately after starting a seminar, we find out 99% of our participants, believe a leader is a person who orders everyone around.
-A leader is one who develops other leaders~


Where are those seminars held?
-The seminars are held in an environment conducive to learning. Our principal place in Port-au-Prince is located at, 29 Rue Marcelin, Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

1- Completion of the seminars, certifies each participant, who is also made ready to go back to where he/she came from, to also train other leaders inside his/her community.

-(Oganize Pou Ayiti, registered with Ministere du Commerce et de l' Industrie no: 294 Reg.16), OPA provides support to grassroots organizations in Haiti.

-The survival of Haiti's people into the 21st Century, requires a focus, first to educate all leaders to bring about a working level of consciousness, a communal goal, to involve the people through direct grassroots actions.

-We are a network of groups, organizations, people, as well as institutions, solidifying a growing platform to provide Grassroots Development, Seminars, Workshops, Community Teaching Engagements, Project Implementation, Human Resource Development, Professional Development, Grassroots to Grassroots Support... to involve grassroots leaders from all sectors.

-Leaders must build other Leaders!

-Organizing is not the same as event planning. We are the leading group in organizing Haiti from deep inside the ghettos to the palaces, fighting with the people of Haiti, to restore values, to restore consciousness, and to restore life flow.

-We are a growing network; our collective numbers more than 150,000 people nationwide. We are working as one unit to respond to the challenges facing the people of Haiti.

-We make little money create big things! That's our motto. All monetary support will cover the cost of programs and services.
