I am overjoyed to be reaching out to you all with news of my plans for this summer. This summer I will be returning to Haiti where I got the privilege last summer to work alongside Amber Hasson who is the director of an orphanage called the Rev Home. I will be doing something a little different this year, and as many of you know, my goal is to graduate from school and attend PA school. In order to gain experience in medicine in a place that I love, I will be working in the medical, wound, and malnutrition clinics in Port-au-Prince. Last summer I was able to meet the Price family who has two daughters named Meredith and Makayla. I will be staying with the Price’s in June and July and will be working alongside Meredith in the clinics. Not only will I have the privilege of serving through a medical outlet, but I will be able to work with the orphanage that I did last summer. It’s amazing how God knew what He was doing and how He used last summer as preparation to build relationships with the kids and get to know them personally all in preparation for a few months from now. I am so beyond excited because I now have a foundation laid with these kids and have been able to see first-hand the needs of the orphanage. My goal for these two months is to start a bible study with the girls in order to provide an opportunity for spiritual growth, but also to teach the importance of daily devotion and time with the Lord as well as how they can do it on their own. I know that I will only be there for a temporary amount of time so I want to use that time to plant seeds and allow the Lord to plant truth in their lives so that growth continues even when I leave.
The opportunity to experience a different aspect of life in Haiti involving a medical aspect is so exciting to me, and I am very excited to see the ways in which the Lord will move as He begins my medical journey through missions. I want to first thank you all for being with me throughout the journey last year because one of the major things I took away from my six weeks last summer was that spiritual warfare is very real. So having all of you behind me being prayer warriors meant so much. Most importantly I want to ask you all for your prayers as preparations are completed for this trip and as I go on this journey to rely on Him even when physical exhaustion, mental battles, and spiritual warfare come my way. If you would like to be a part of my trip and have a hand in this summer in a financial way as well I would be so beyond grateful. To spend two months in Haiti I will need to raise around $3,100 which is a daunting number but I’ve seen the Lord move and make possible what seems impossible. If you’re interested in helping me So thank you guys in advance and I am so grateful to have you all as a support system behind me as the Lord takes me on this jump.
