Haiti 2018 pediatric wheelchairs

On November 10th, I'll be joining 4 colleagues on a week long mission to Haiti as part of their ongoing efforts in bringing custom seating and mobility systems to disabled children.  The team will spend time at two residential facilities in Port au Prince, Zanmi Beni, http://friendsofzb.org and the Saint Vincent's Center https://stvincentshaiti.org
The purpose of the visit is two fold: facilitate delivery of 15 highly customized wheelchairs (lovingly donated and refurbished here in Boston) to children previously assessed for need whilst also evaluating as many additional children for need. I'm excited to join the team and look forward to the delivery process as each component of these donated chairs must be modified and adapted to the child's needs. 
All funds raised will be used to defray costs of transportation, lodging, interpreter support and allow for purchase of new equipment best suited for the Haitian environment.
My experience in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake had left me hoping to one day return and bask in their joyfulness. Dreams do come true.
