Hair Cut for $5K - Help Elliot make a difference

I'm raising money in aid of Access Hope Inc. and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for contributing to this cause, which means so much to me.

Fifteen years ago, I shaved my head for a fundraiser. Now, it’s time to chop it off yet again.

My whole waking life and social identity during my teens and young adult years has revolved around the image of long luscious hair that softly drifts in the wind. I’ve had so many great memories with my hair. But after the many years of hair-flicking fun, and from being mistaken in public for anything from Tarzan to a girl, its time to say goodbye.

So in conjunction with such a huge, personal milestone, I wanted to take this opportunity to raise awareness and funds for a small charity I support based here in Perth, Access Hope.

Access Hope is a Christian organisation founded in 2011 by Linda Gouldsmith followed by the opening of Kwetu Nyumbani Children’s Home (Which means ‘Our home' in Swahili) in Kenya, serving as a haven for children and orphans from the Kipsongo Slum who don’t have access to basic needs like food, clean water, education and medicine.

There’s so much more that Access Hope does, like Burundi Housing, providing homes for the poorest of the poor, Training for prisoners for effective rehabilitation and much more community-based care and services.

August 1st 2022 marks 11 years since the opening of the Children’s Home, and in support of Access Hope and all they do, I’m seeking to raise $5,000 for this small, dedicated organisation that has already helped so many. This money will be used to invest in more building infrastructure within the children’s home and to serve any other needs of the organisation, from financial aid to school, education and food.

Any donation you feel so led to make is appreciated beyond measure. I can’t wait to see the impact we can have on these kids and the community Access Hope is helping.

I’ll be making the cut on 17th September 2022, but this isn’t a cut-off for fundraising.
