Hailey's Service Learning Trip

This summer I have been given an amazing opportunity to study abroad in another country. I am looking to expand my linguistic and cultural fluency through my studies and participation in service work in the beautiful country of the Dominican Republic. I have been accepted into a service learning program in which I will be working in a clinic to further my medical experience while providing free health care to underprivledged children and families that lack access to it.  This challenging program will not only benefit me in ways I cannot begin to explain, but also those in developing countries who don't have the advanced medical system that we have here in the United States. For me, I will be able to broaden my understanding of those in less fortunate circumstances and be able to help in every way that I can. I will learn things that no books can teach me; compassion, and selflessness. I will grow in ways that will make me a much more reliant and self-sufficient person in which I strive to be everyday. 
While I am thrilled for this opportunitiy to enhance my education and help others, I cannot possibly do it alone. The trip is very costly and the only way for me to be able to help them is for you to help me.
