My name is Hailey Schultz. I am a student at UWSP, and I am studying a bachelor's degree in dietetics and a master’s degree in community and organizational leadership. I am apart of Chi Alpha on my campus and get the opportunity to lead small groups, host prayer meetings, and lead in worship. The opportunity shared below was given to me through a conference in Rochester, Minnesota about mission work.
This summer I have the wonderful opportunity to participate in a missionary internship in Costa Rica. I will be serving in the small town of La Virgen, Sarapiqui. Through Assemblies of God World Missions, I will be serving as a MAPS worker (Missions Abroad Placement Service) to assist the local ministry in evangelism outreaches, youth and children’s ministries, and other special projects.
God is doing great things in Costa Rica. It is exciting to know that I can be apart of it. I will be flying from Chicago on May 25th and returning August 3rd. This time will allow me to make connections with the campus I am staying at and help build opportunities for students attending the ministry school. One big thing I will be helping with this summer is cultivating a garden on campus to provide fresh access to the community members. Not only will we be growing fruits and vegetables, but we are also projecting to open a farm-to-table dining center in the future. Another aspect of my summer will look like helping missions trips as they come to build our campus. I get the opportunity to work with men and women all over the world and even take a Spanish language course while I am there. I look forward to stepping into this calling and obeying the Lord in His Great Commission.
I am excited to learn more about the Costa Rican culture and immerse myself in service. I can’t wait to see how God uses the gifts He has given me to lift His name. I believe God has called me to be a part of this experience and I am inviting you to be a part of this adventure with me. My desire is to grow my support system who will pray with me faithfully through my training and time in Costa Rica. There is also an opportunity to be a part of financially supporting my trip. I will need to raise $4,500. I will pay this through contributing myself and through donations. I am trusting God will provide me with the money I need to participate in the visions He has given me to grow and strengthen the community I will be in. He has clearly been at work in my life with His provision and faithfulness on this journey.
If you would be interested in giving support through prayer or financial donation, I would love to hear from you. You can give online, which is preferred, or you can send me money. Thank you for taking the time to read about the opportunity I have coming soon and for prayerfully considering your involvement in my support team.
